Hello! We are the Fritsch family and are ready to take on the summer of 2021.

With the pandemic still in full force, we have struggled as parents of two small children, ages 3.5 and 1, on how to keep them engaged with their ever-growing bodies and minds.

We discovered the city had a “Playground Challenge”. What better way to entertain our adventurous children than playing outside where we can safely social distance to keep not only ourselves safe, but those around us as well.

So, 43 playgrounds to discover and a summer full of slides, monkey bars, swings, and a bunch of sand in our shoes! Hope you enjoy our journey as much as we will!

THE PARKS

  • We Did It!

It took us almost the whole summer, but we are glad to say that we finished the entire Janesville Playground Challenge. We spent all of 2020 in isolation, so it was great to get out as a family for all of these and see parts of Janesville that we normally wouldn’t have visited. There were definitely some duplicate playground equipment, but that is to be expected over the course of 43 sites. We have some favorites that we will be visiting again, including some that are pretty far from our house. Would highly recommend the challenge to anybody in Janesville with small kiddos, and people in other cities to get out and visit their local parks.
